How do you keep my clients information secure.
Recognizing that it is a challenge for a small company to maintain high levels of security and availability of servers, we outsourced that component of our operation to Canada Web Hosting. Of all the providers we reviewed, they had the most language around privacy, PIPDEA and the best levels of data center redundancy and security.
What equipment do I need?
- Windows or Apple computer.
- Probably less than 5 years old with more than 512MB of RAM.
- Highspeed internet access
- Optional, Blackberry, iPhone or similar device for mobile access.
- 1GB of disk space to store client records.
How do I sign up?
Click here to go to the signup page. It will ask you for a method of payment, as well as your demographics and email address.
Does the computer get between me and my client?
Once you are used to online charting, it gets in the way no more than charting on paper.
- Use a laptop computer so that it is small, and it is off slightly to one side so that it is not between you and your client.
- Or put the tower under the desk and have the monitor off to one side with the keyboard in front.
If I put all my information into my computer, will I have access to it when I need it?
You will be able to access your information in several ways- Your computer/laptop will maintain a copy so you can access the information even if your internet connection fails or you are offline.
- You can access the information from any internet connected computer
- You can access the information in a limited way from mobile wireless web browsers such as Blackberry or iPhone.
- If you can find a computer with internet access you can view and update client information and perform billing functions.
Can I use this in the hospital?
Yes, you may use the MidwifeMate in the hospital in 2 ways.
- If you choose the Blackberry option, you will be able to access records in any hospital area where cell phone use is permitted.
- You may also access the client information using a laptop
As the software downloads all the charts to the computer, you can update them without internet access at the hospital. The next time you connect the records will be synchronized.
